By creating an account, buying a hosted plan, or using the hosted service, you agree to these terms.
1. What The Service Is
Jant is a hosted publishing service. We provide the account system, hosted site management, billing, and operational control plane for your sites.
Jant is still an early product. Features, limits, and workflows may change as the service evolves.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for:
- providing a valid email address
- keeping your login credentials safe
- activity that happens under your account
You must not share access in a way that bypasses the intended account or site membership model.
3. Hosted Sites
A hosted account may exist without payment, but a hosted site is generally a paid feature unless we explicitly grant complimentary access.
Current lifecycle rules for hosted sites:
- canceling renewal keeps the site online until the current paid period ends
- after expiry, the site enters a 90-day retained window
- during retention, the site is not publicly served, but may still be restorable
Delete site nowis a separate destructive action and can bypass the retained window
You should keep your own exports and backups for anything you care about.
4. Billing
If you buy a hosted plan:
- billing is handled by Stripe
- paid plans renew automatically until canceled
- canceling stops future renewal, not the already-paid period
- we may offer complimentary access, invite-based discounts, or manually granted plan adjustments at our discretion
If payment fails or a plan ends, hosted site availability may change according to the current hosted lifecycle.
5. Your Content
You keep ownership of the content you publish through Jant.
You give us the limited rights needed to:
- host and deliver the site
- store and back up data
- generate exports
- process content and media required to operate the service
- suspend, retain, restore, or delete data according to the hosted lifecycle
We do not claim ownership of your writing just because you use the service.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use Jant to:
- break the law
- distribute malware, phishing pages, or spam
- interfere with the service or other users
- abuse shared infrastructure or attempt unauthorized access
- publish content that you do not have the right to host or distribute
We may suspend or terminate accounts or sites that create legal, security, or operational risk.
7. Service Changes And Availability
We may add, remove, or change features, limits, integrations, and pricing.
We will try to operate the service reliably, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, outages, provider failures, and security incidents can happen.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access if:
- you violate these terms
- continued service would create legal or security risk
- payment obligations are not met
- operating the service for a given account or site is no longer reasonable
Termination does not erase any fees already owed.
9. No Warranty
The service is provided on an as is and as available basis.
To the extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, use, or data.
If we are found liable for a claim arising out of the hosted service, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
11. Changes To These Terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change,
we will update the date at the top and, when appropriate, provide notice in the
service or on jant.me.
12. Questions
If you have questions about these terms, billing, deletion, or data export, use
the contact address listed on jant.me.
