    AI is making us creating thing we are unaware of

    there should be a new verb for that: Aldream

  2. We're about to enter a period where not reading or writing becomes as ubiquitous as smoking once was. We can hope people will eventually realize this is bad for them, as they did with smoking. But this is far from certain; the cost may not be as obvious.

    Paul Graham

    The moment you can answer it is by definition not love
    you can say why you're in love, like smile and so on, these details appear as cause of love only when you are in love. To others, they are ordinary features.

    True radical love is for one person. Polyamory is not true love. It wouldn't be right to say because you satisfy my needs. It's simply an urgent impossibility. I cannot be without you...leads to singularity.

    True love is not idealization. You expect all the small imperfections and you love the person even more because of this.

  6. When our friends are struggling, our instinct is to rescue them, to pull them out of the mud, to fix. Even it is well-intentioned, it is a horrible feeling. Don't do that, you're making it worse.

    It is not the desire to fix or pull the friend out of the mud who you really want to see out of the mud, but it's your willingness to sit in the mud with them, to get in the mud and turn to them and say, "this sucks". It's not fun being in the mud with them. You don't want to get in the mud with them, but you choose to get in the mud with them until they are ready to say can we get out now.

    We think we have friends, yet we still struggle and feel lonely. If you have good friendship, you will not feel lonely.

    You may have the moment of loneliness and in those periods, you will pick up the phone and say to your friend, "I need you, I'm lonely." You friends will be there and you will not feel alone. Someone will get in the mud with you.

    The problem is that we don't give intention to friendship. "cause they will understand, they're our friends" so why aren't we prioritizing our friendship? Why don't we treat our friends with the same intentionality. One of the thing that will did for a friend.

    All you need in your life who says, you got this, I believe in you. and you will find courage and energy to do things you would not have had before. But more importantly, that person needs to also say and if everything goes wrong, I will be there for you, with you, be in the mud with u, and has the ability to say something's wrong, I'm worried about u.

    Simon Sinek

  7. Write about small, self-contained incidents that are still vivid in your memory. If you remember them, it's because they contain a larger truth that your reader will recognize in their own lives. Think small and you'll wind up finding the big.

    William Zinsser

    1. Love isn't something natural. Rather it requires discipline, concentration, patience, faith, and the overcoming of narcissism. It isn't a feeling, it is a practice.

      Erich Fromm

    2. Man’s main task in life is to give birth to himself, to become what he potentially is. The most important product of his effort is his own personality.

      Erich Fromm

    3. You need to become consistent before expecting to become good at anything.

    4. In conceptual art the idea or concept is the most important aspect of the work. When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair. The idea becomes a machine that makes the art.

      Sol LeWitt

    5. Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.

    7. When you hit a wrong note, it’s the next note that you play that determines if it’s good or bad.

      Miles Davis

    8. No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.

    9. We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone.

      Orson Welles

    10. Too much consistency is as bad for the mind as it is for the body. Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life. The only completely consistent people are dead.

      Aldous Huxley

    11. Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot.

    12. At the end of your life, looking back, whatever compelled your attention from moment is simply what your life will have been.

      Oliver Burkeman

    14. We are more like an object than a living, breathing human being. We are viewed as parts rather than a whole. We are precisely labeled and categorized at the expense of the person themselves.

    15. There are naïve questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

      有些问题是天真的,有些问题是乏味的,有些问题表达不清晰,有些问题是在不充分的自我批评之后提出的。但每个问题都是对理解世界的呼喊。愚蠢的问题是不存在的。

      卡尔 · 萨根(Carl Sagan)

    16. 国际记者中心(ICFJ)出品的《灾难和危机报道手册》中提出,在灾难和危机中,新闻媒体扮演了四种关键的角色:

      第一,提供关键的信息,告诉大家发生了什么、谁受到了影响、事情在如何发展,以及为什么会发生这样的灾难。
      第二,提供一条沟通的生命线,传递关键信息,把受影响的相关方的信息传出来,也把关键信息传递给他们;
      第三,成为一座警告的灯塔,为避免下一次的灾难传递及时、可靠的信息;
      第四,成为一个社区的论坛,让公民们可以走到一起来,分享自己共同的担忧,在困难的时刻彼此提供支持。

    17. 这是一个最好的时代,也是一个最坏的时代;
      这是一个智慧的年代,这是一个愚蠢的年代;
      这是一个信任的时期,这是一个怀疑的时期。
      这是一个光明的季节,这是一个黑暗的季节;
      这是希望之春,这是失望之冬;
      人们面前应有尽有,人们面前一无所有;
      人们正踏上天堂之路,人们正走向地狱之门。

      查尔斯·狄更斯《双城记》

    18. 我养育你,并非恩情,
      只是血缘使然的生物本能;
      所以,我既然无恩于你,
      你便无需报答我。
      反而,我要感谢你,
      因为有你的参与,
      我的生命才更完整。
      我只是碰巧成为了你的父亲,
      你只是碰巧成为了我的女儿和儿子,
      我并不是你的前传,
      你也不是我的续篇。
      你是独立的个体,
      是与我不同的灵魂;
      你并不因我而来,
      你是因对生命的渴望而来。
      你是自由的,
      我是爱你的;
      但我绝不会“以爱之名”,去掌控你的人生。

      胡适
